First off... this place is MASSIVE I spent 4 hours and basically did a speed walk through the entire complex and I'm sure I didn't even get to see everything. Bring your walking shoes.

I need to go back because I just wasn't prepared for the completeness of this place.

Second, I find most museums are either interpretive, or instructive. This is a bit of both. The documentation on some items is incredible, while others are left for appreciation as is. There is a good balance here.

This was an amazing place to visit. So much to see. Well maintained. Most of stuff still in working order. Well worth the trip out here.

Forth, you can see the pride that has been taken here. It's more than just a stuffy museum trying to show off its wares. Most items on display aren't protected with laser sensored alarms, there isn't bullet proof glass and fancy displays. They work with what they have. The expense is put towards the collection itself. They don't have big clean rooms to pull things apart and scrutinize at a forensic level. Many items are just as you might put them out in your own home, on an end table or a shelf in the kitchen. Some engines things are being restored on the spot for you to see how it's done. This seems to all be volunteer run and you can see the folks that do this make sure that it does more than just show well. They don't make it nice they make it great!

I took well over 200 photos out there but I'll post this one because I love the copper ceiling.

Third, remember I said the place is massive? Well it's not empty. They have just about everything except a Saturn 5 rocket. If it was made with pride and quality they probably have it some where on site. There is something for everyone here.

Replace is a must see. So many cool displays and vehicles. The main street is great. The Halloween event is always good.
